CRISIL spurts on McGraw Hill Financial’s open offer for hiking stake in the company

CRISIL is currently trading at Rs 1126.60, up by 187.75 points or 20.00% from its previous closing of Rs 938.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 1126.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1126.60 and Rs 1126.60 respectively. So far 20186 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Re 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 1128.00 on 04-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 855.25 on 14-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 956.00 and Rs 920.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 7943.26 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.98% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.41% and 19.62% respectively.

McGraw Hill Financial Inc has offered to increase its stake in the domestic ratings agency Crisil to 75 percent from 52.77 percent. McGraw Hill has announced an open offer of Rs 1,210 per share, marking a premium over Crisil’s record high of Rs 1,150.3 hit on April 2012. The offer also provides an attractive liquidity opportunity to current Crisil shareholders.

CRISIL is a global analytical company providing ratings, research, and risk and policy advisory services. The company’s majority shareholder is Standard and Poor’s (S&P). S&P, a part of The McGraw-Hill Companies, is the world’s foremost provider of credit ratings.
