HUL spurts on delivering exceptional Q2 performance

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) is currently trading at Rs 366.05, up by 16.60 points or 4.75% from its previous closing of Rs 349.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 351.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 365.00 and Rs 348.25 respectively. So far 709000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Re 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 356.50 on 31-Oct-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 264.50 on 22-Mar-2011.

The company’s net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2011registered growth of 21.69% at Rs 688.92 crore as compared to Rs 566.12 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Company’s total income has increased by 17.48% at Rs 5688.15 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 4841.49 crore for the similar quarter of the previous year.

The company’s board of directors at their meeting held on October 31, 2011, have declared an interim dividend of Rs 3.50 per equity share of face value of Re 1 each for the financial year ending March 31, 2012. The dividend will be paid to the shareholders on or after November 22, 2011.
