Pursuant to Regulation 30 of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligation and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 with regret Ludlow Jute & Specialities has informed that due to the illegal strike by the workmen of the mill for reasons best known to them. A few of the workmen, suspected instigators, simultaneously provoked a group of about thousand workmen who turned into a violent mob and attacked the management employees causing grievous injuries and bloodshed; also went ransacking inside different offices including the manager’s office, accounts office, labor office and other offices thereby destroying computers hard disk surveillance cameras and important documents beyond redemption. Reportedly outsiders along with the few mill workmen had actively given leadership and participated in the violence incident that took place in the mill causing a big damage to the company’s properties; even hard disks from the computers are found missing and important records shall not be retrieved. Considering the violent situation prevailing in the mill, the management cannot keep the mill in operation and is left with no other option but to declare a ‘Suspension of Work’ in the mill from Thursday, 26th September 2024, from 10 pm onwards till further orders. The ‘no work, no pay’ principle will be applicable to the concern workmen for the period ‘suspension of work’. The essential services in the mill, including inspection of goods for supplies of government orders, press machines, branding, loading and unloading from the godown will remain operational.
