HUL spurts after Unilever hikes its stake to 67%

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) is currently trading at Rs. 619.10, up by 18.35 points or 3.05 % from its previous closing of Rs. 600.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 622.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 631.95 and Rs. 616.25 respectively. So far 191079 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 605.20 on 04-Jul-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 432.25 on 07-Mar-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 605.20 and Rs. 565.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 133857.04 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.48 %, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.17 % and 17.35 % respectively.

Hindustan Unilever’s (HUL) parent company Unilever has acquired 14.80% stake in the company against target of 22.5% in Indian unit on closing of open offer. Following this, Unilever’s holding in the company has increased to 67.28% from 52.48%.

Unilever will have to pay Rs 19,202 crore to investors at Rs 600 per share. Unilever had planned to pay up to Rs 29,200 crore to increase its stake in HUL to 75%, the maximum a promoter can own in a listed company.
