SJVN spurts on acquiring Buxar Bijlee Company

SJVN is currently trading at Rs. 20.05, up by 0.65 points or 3.35% from its previous closing of Rs. 19.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 20.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 20.25 and Rs. 19.75 respectively. So far 128785 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 23.00 on 20-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 18.40 on 04-Mar-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 20.10 and Rs. 18.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 8293.94 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 89.97% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 3.90% and 6.13% respectively.

Hydro sector giant SJVN has acquired 100% of Equity of Buxar Bijlee Company on July 04, 2013. This development is in terms of memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the company with Bihar government for setting up a 1320 MW thermal plant at Buxar in Chausa.

Further, the company has been allocated 486 MT of Coal reserves in the 2102 MT Deocha-Pachami Coal Block located in West Bengal for the purpose of Buxar Thermal Project.

SJVN is a joint venture between the Central government and Himachal Pradesh state government. The company owns and operates India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh.
