Power Grid emerges as successful bidder for two projects to establish inter-state transmission system

Power Grid Corporation of India has been declared as successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding for the two projects to establish Inter-State Transmission System under Build, Own Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. The Letters of Intent (LoI) for both the projects have been received by Power Grid on December 12, 2024.

The first project is for transmission system under ISTS for evacuation of power from Kudankulam Unit-3 & Unit-4 (2x1000MW). The project comprises of 400kV Transmission line between KNPP 3 and 4 – Tuticorin-II traversing in the state of Tamil Nadu along with the terminal equipment at Tuticorin-II S/s.

The second project is for system Strengthening at Koppal-II and Gadag-II for integration of RE Generation Projects. The project comprises of 400kV Transmission line between Koppal-II – Gadag-II traversing in the state of Karnataka, and augmentation of transformation capacity of under construction substations of POWERGRID at Koppal-II and Gadag-II.
