Punj Lloyd has won a Rs 826-crore contract from Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) for a submarine pipeline project in an exploration block on the country’s east coast. The contract is scheduled to be completed by April 2013, the company said, adding that so far, it has laid more than 10,000 km of onshore and offshore pipelines globally. With the present contract, the order backlog for the Punj Lloyd Group on a consolidated basis has gone up to Rs 25,199 crore.

The scope of work for the lump sum turnkey engineering, procurement and construction contract includes a 24.5-km-long pipeline from Process-cum-Living Quarter Platform (PLQP) to Onshore Gas Terminal (OGT), a 15-km-long effluent disposal pipeline and 24.5 km of optical fibre cabling.
