Amara Raja Batteries reports 64% surge in Q2 net profit

Amara Raja Batteries has announced its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2011.

The company has reported a net profit of Rs 51.8 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2011, up by 63.92% against Rs 31.6 crore in the corresponding period last year. The company's net sales rose 42.86% at Rs 558.6 crore over the corresponding period's Rs 391 crore.

Amara Raja Batteries (ARBL) is engaged in manufacturing of industrial and automotive batteries. It was founded in 1985. ARBL was first to introduce Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries with three-year warranty in industrial and automotive applications.
