Recently, the company has announced its plan to raise Rs 20-30 billion by the end of current fiscal through term loans and rupee bonds. The company will be utilizing these funds to install new hydro projects worth 515 megawatts. During the half year ended September 30, NHPC's operating power stations generated 13.37 billion electricity units 3% higher on year-on-year basis, surpassing its target of 12.98 billion units for the half year.
The company’s net profit for the quarter under review grew by 40.03% at Rs 966.47 crore as compared to Rs 690.18 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. The company’s total income has increased by 48.92% at Rs 2162.74 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 1452.37 crore for the second quarter of the previous fiscal.
