C&C Constructions reports 12% fall in Q1 net profit

C&C Constructions has reported results for the first quarter ended September 30, 2011.

The company’s net profit for the first quarter of the current fiscal fell 11.59% at Rs 6.41 crore as compared to Rs 7.25 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2010. The company’s income from operations have increased marginally by 0.70% to Rs 253.94 crore for the first quarter of 2011-12 from Rs 252.18 crore for the corresponding quarter of 2010-11.

Despite a tough quarter where margins across the industry have been under pressure, the company’s performance has been supported by its higher value projects, efficiencies in operation and efficient technology employed.

The company’s order book as on September 30, 2011 stood at Rs 5,440 crore. NHAI has unfortunately been very slow in awarding new projects and the ones awarded have been with stiff competition at extremely low pricing.

C&C Construction is a medium-sized company engaged in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services for infrastructure projects in the construction of highways, airport runways, bridges, water & sanitation water sewerage, sanitation and buildings and power transmission in India and Afghanistan.
