Reliance Infrastructure redeems ECBs aggregating $360 million

Reliance Infrastructure has repaid the entire outstanding ECBs by making payment on the due date i.e. November 16, 2011. Earlier on November 2006, in accordance with the terms of External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs) the company had raised about Rs 1,815 crore aggregating $360 million.

Reliance Infrastructure is Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group's infrastructure Company. It is a developer and contractor of projects in sectors such as roadways, metro rail, and airports. The company is also into power generation, transmission, distribution, and trading.

The company’s profit after tax for the quarter under review zoomed by 190.77% at Rs 495.74 crore as compared to Rs 170.49 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2010. Company’s total income has increased by 72.58% at Rs 4063.17 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 2354.38 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
