State Bank of Travancore tumbles on reporting 59% fall in Q2 net profit

State Bank of Travancore is currently trading at Rs 461.05, down by 12.50 points or 2.64 % from its previous closing of Rs. 473.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 465.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs 467.95 and Rs 459.75 respectively. So far 5921 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 648.00 on 10-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 401.55 on 04-Sep-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 483.00 and Rs 425.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 2305.25 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.28% and 18.72% respectively.

State Bank of Travancore has reported results for second quarter ended September 30, 2013.

The bank has reported a fall of 59.20% in its net profit at Rs 55.34 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 as compared to Rs 135.63 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank increased by 16.43% at Rs 2566.09 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2203.92 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) increased to 3.50% in the July-September quarter as against 2.98% in the same quarter previous year, however net NPAs has increased to 2.07%.
