Bajaj Auto has sold 10 million units of motorcycles based on its patented DTS-i - Digital Twin Spark Ignition engine technology. This revolutionary technology was first introduced by the company on its Pulsar brand in 2003 and was later incorporated in the discover portfolio.
DTS-i engines incorporate two spark plugs as against the single spark plug in other two wheelers. A single spark plug engine provides a spark at only one end of the combustion chamber while the DTS-i engine provides two - one each at either end of the chamber, resulting in faster and more efficient combustion with almost no wastage of precious fuel. The end result is superior performance without any compromise on mileage.
Bajaj Auto’s exports grew by 20% during October this year to 131,948 units from 110,387 units in the same month last year, the country’s second largest two wheeler maker reported its highest ever total monthly sales at 395,274 units for October, 2011 against 370816 units in the corresponding month last year recording jump of 7%. The sales of Motorcycle stood at 351,083 units during the month, as against 329,776 in October last year, translating into 6% increase.
