IDBI Bank rolls out mobile banking facility bus

IDBI Bank, India's leading public sector bank has rolled out its mobile banking facility bus from the city of Nagpur. The bank's mobile banking bus had commenced its 'Vikas Yatra' from IDBI Tower in Mumbai. As part of bank’s initiative to promote developmental activities in the country it has commenced 'Vikas Yatra'.

To keep a track of the bus on its movement, the mobile banking bus is equipped with BSNL telephones and has a GPS system installed on it. Mobile Banking facilitates the usage of modern banking facilities to millions of people across the country so the bus has been converted into a mobile ATM.

India has got six lakh villages and the bank has not reached even one lakh villages so far but the bus would reach every nook and corner of the rural area.

Besides, IDBI Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian Army for customized defence salary account. As per the terms of MoU, the bank will also open branches and install ATMs at select locations approved by the Indian Army for benefit of its personnel.

The bank’s net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 has jumped by 62.13% at Rs 516.25 crore whereas the same was at Rs 318.41 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010. Its total Income has surged by 23.18% at Rs 5700.65 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 whereas the same was at Rs 4627.91 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
