Bharti Airtel inks partnership pact with Samsung in Africa

Bharti Airtel, India's top mobile phone carrier has inked a two year partnership pact with Samsung Electronics Company whereby it will have exclusive distribution rights for some of Samsung wireless products in 17 African countries for the first six months after their launch. With the aim of driving mobile penetration in Africa, Bharti Airtel has inked partnership pact.  The products include smartphones, mass-market mobile handsets, tablet computers, dongles and routers.

Recently, Bharti Airtel had crossed 50 million subscribers in Africa. By the end of March 2013, the company aim is to have 100 million customers in Africa. The company currently operates in total 19 countries across Asia and Africa and is the world's fifth-biggest mobile operator by subscribers.

Bharti Airtel offers mobile voice and data services, fixed line, high speed broadband, IPTV, DTH, turnkey telecom solutions for enterprises and national and international long distance services to carriers. The company has been ranked among the six best performing technology companies in the world by business week.
