Omega Ag-Seeds Punjab jumps on plans to foray in aquaculture and agriculture trading

Omega Ag-Seeds Punjab is currently trading at Rs. 15.15, up by 0.65 points or 4.48% from its previous closing of Rs. 14.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 15.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 15.22 and Rs. 15.00 respectively. So far 1163 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'T' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 24.85 on 12-Aug-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 5.60 on 9-Dec-2010.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 15.22 and Rs. 13.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 7.25 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 47.92% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.94% and 51.14% respectively. 

Omega Ag-Seeds Punjab is planning to foray into aquaculture and agriculture trading by acquiring stake in Gayatri Sea Foods as part of diversification programme. The company is going to review the business prospects of Agri Seeds business for the foray.

The company’s board will meet on December 15, 2011 to consider and approve relevant business plan.

Omega Ag-seeds (Punjab) is a joint venture of Punjab Agro Industries corporation (PAIC) and Omega Ag-seeds (India) (OASIL).
