Mercator gains on receiving contract for 2 shallow water offshore oil blocks in Myanmar

Mercator is currently trading at Rs. 24.45, up by 0.15 points or 0.62 % from its previous closing of Rs. 24.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 24.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 25.60 and Rs. 23.75 respectively. So far 340553 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 25.65 on 27-Mar-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 9.10 on 06-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 25.65 and Rs. 22.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 599.99 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 40.22 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.98 % and 44.80 % respectively.

Mercator’s subsidiary - Mercator Petroleum in consortium with Oil India (OIL), and Oilmax Energy, has been chosen as the selected candidate by the Ministry of Energy (MOE) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, for two shallow water offshore oil blocks, in the Myanmar Offshore Block Bidding Round - 2013. The Consortium will enter into Production Sharing Contract for these blocks with Ministry of Energy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
