Alpine Industries was incorporated as a public limited company in 1974 under the name Alpine Malt & Breweries. The name was changed to Alpine Industries in 1994. In 1983, the management changed hands and the Bhandari family acquired effective control. With successive enhancements in capacity, Alpine Industries consolidated in the solvent extraction industry. The company’s complex at Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh is the largest of its kind in Asia. Alpine Industries was adjudged company of the year in 1991-92 in the soya industry by Investment Week.
In 1986, the company installed machines with a view to increase the solvent extraction capacity from 30,000 tonnes to 75,000 tonnes per annum. In the year 1993 the company undertook to install a soyabean solvent extraction plant with a capacity of 1,50,000 tonnes per annum which was expected to go into production in October. Soyabean processing capacity was increased from 2,10,000 TPA to 4,50,000 TPA for production of high quality soya meal. The company also undertook to set up a vegetable oil refinery of 100 TPD Capacity and edible soya flour plant with 200 TPA capacity.
In 1994, the company along with an associate company promoted a new company Alpine Biotech for the purpose of setting up a 100% EOU mushroom project at Dewas, M.P. with an installed capacity of 3600 TPA in technical collaboration with Dalsem Vaciap, Holland.
