Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector bank, in a bid to encash increasing prosperity and plush corporate jobs coming to the state capital has opened one of its first few premium branches meant for the well heeled customers in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. This makes the mark of the banks first branch in Uttar Pradesh and only the 10th of its kind in India.
The premium branch would focus on servicing the Priority, Wealth, Channel One, Club50 and SME clients of the bank. It would have a lounge area and a fully equipped business centre and conference rooms exclusively for the use of its premium clients. The premium branches of Axis Bank are designed such that they can cater to every need of the premium clients of the bank apart from servicing the other spectrum of customers as the bank has focused approach when it comes to offering services to our customers. During the current fiscal, the bank is also planning to open 15 more branches of Axis Bank in 10 districts of the UP state.
Recently, Axis Bank had launched the -- e-Wallet Card -- for online payments. The e-Wallet Card is an electronic payment service offered free of cost by the Bank to its customers, which works like any credit or debit card for making online payments. The e-Wallet Card can be created instantly using the bank’s internet banking and can be used for making payments on all websites that accept Visa cards.
Axis Bank has reported 33.5% increase in net profit at Rs 1,020.11 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011 against Rs 764.8 crore in the same quarter in the previous fiscal. Total income of the bank rose by 48.3% to Rs 5,817 crore in the January-March quarter compared to Rs 3,922 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
