Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has accepted the delivery of a Kamsarmax Bulk carrier, m.v. ‘Vishva Uday’ on November 27, 2013. With the addition of this vessel, SCI’s fleet strength stands at 75 vessels of 5.95 million DWT.
This is the third vessel of the four Kamsarmax bulk carriers ordered by SCI with Jiangsu Eastern Heavy Industries Company, China. SCI had placed orders for the above vessels in September 2010. The first two vessels were delivered in December 2012 and May 2013 respectively.
SCI is the only Indian shipping company operating break-bulk service, international container service, liquid / dry bulk service, offshore service, passenger service, in addition to manning / managing a large number of vessels on behalf of various government departments and organizations.
