About Lords Chemicals Ltd

Lords Chemicals is a leading Indian manufacturer of basic industrial chemicals like Sodium Dichromate, Chromic Acid, Chrome Oxide Green etc. It is a business group of the Mahabir Coke Industries and operates lucratively from its headquarters in Kolkata, West Bengal since 1998. Lords has in its tenure of over a decade earned itself the reputation of being a leader in not only the domestic but also the global markets. The chemicals produced here confirm to international standards of quality and modes of production and find application in a multitude of industries.

Owing to its technological edge and the expertise of its diligent workforce of vast employees, Lords Chemicals has become one of the leading producers of Sodium Dichromate through the use of Continuous Rotary Kiln Process. This chemical is used in a variety of applications like pigments, wood preservation, metal treatment, pharmaceuticals, etc.

In addition to this, the plant boasts of comprehensive automation with Pusher Centrifuge for Crystals which is done in total compliance with internationally set norms and standards and has a commendable production capacity of 300 MT per month. The research and development wing of Lords Chemicals is on the rise and ensures the use of innovation in the production of the chemicals and their adherence to International standards of excellence.

Lords Chemicals maneuvers an intensive network and exercises integrated quality management processes aimed at satisfactorily meeting customer requirements. Apart from attaining superior technological and quality-specific edge over its competitors, Lords Chemicals also pays close attention to the enhancement of safety, health and environmental protection.

Products of the company

Chrome Oxide Green: It is an inorganic pigment with an olive-green hue which provides a high level of opacity.

Chromic Acid: It is also known as Chromium Trioxide or Chromic Anhydride. It is hygroscopic in nature and forms a saturated solution of 62.6% CrO3 at 25°C. Though it is an acid, a diluted solution of it exerts a protective action on the metal surfaces like mild steel, zinc, aluminum, copper, brass, etc at room temperature, by the formation of a thin passive film.

Sodium Dichromate: It is one of the principal products. The company is acknowledged as one of the leading manufacturers of Sodium Dichromate Crystal by continuous Rotary kiln process. The company's production capacity of Sodium Dichromate is 3,600 MT per annum.

Milestones

  • The group started its journey in early 70’s (seventies) by laying the foundation of Jupiter Coke Industries, a hard coke manufacturing Unit in present day Jharkhand.
  • With the aim of producing excellent quality Low Ash Metallurgical Coke (LAMC) by using high quality raw coal from Meghalaya Mines and to expand the activities in the North East region, in 1985 a LAMC manufacturing plant was set up in Assam, in the name of Mahabir Coke Industries, which has successfully extended the need of the giant Graphite Manufacturing Plant of India.
  • To expand the activities in core section, in 2000, a Port land Slag Cement manufacturing plant has been set up in Jharkhand in the name of JCI Cement Pvt Ltd which has achieved a well reputation and captured major markets in Jharkhand and Bihar region.
  • As another step of going ahead in the direction of diversification of business, a commercial pitch manufacturing plant was set up in Orissa in 2002, in the name of Mahabir Coke Industries ( P) Ltd, Pitch Division and supplying to the largest Graphite & Aluminum manufacturers in India, with their fullest satisfaction.
  • To expand the activities overseas trade a 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU) has been set up in Orissa in the name of AKJ Minerals Ltd , head quartered in Kolkata for processing and export of high value minerals.
  • In moving further trends towards the heavy industry Sector, a big clinker manufacturing plant is being set up in Jharkhand, the commercial production of which will commence very soon.
